The Ceylon Ultrafine Mill Uses Ultrafine Processing To Redefine Local Grains
Mr. Jeongho Lee – Founder, Chairman, and Managing Director at The Ceylon UltraFine Mill
Sri Lanka is rich in agricultural resources, with grains such as rice, finger millet (kurakkan), black gram, and cassava playing an important role in local food culture for generations. Despite their nutritional value and availability, these grains have often been limited to traditional uses, while their potential in modern food manufacturing remained largely untapped.
The Ceylon UltraFine Mill was established to bridge this gap. Using precision ultrafine milling technology developed in Korea, we process local grains to a fineness of approximately 55 microns, creating functional food ingredients with improved performance characteristics. At this level of fineness, ingredients demonstrate better mixability, binding, texture, and moisture retention, helping manufacturers achieve greater consistency and quality in their final products.
Our approach goes beyond conventional flour milling. We focus on transforming Sri Lankan agricultural products into value-added ingredients that can be used across a wide range of applications, including bakery products, gluten-free foods, health foods, meal replacement products, snacks, and traditional foods.
Today, The Ceylon UltraFine Mill serves both industrial and consumer markets. We work with food manufacturers, bakeries, hotels, restaurants, and distributors while also developing consumer-focused products under our CEYFINE brand.
Looking ahead, we aim to increase the value of Sri Lankan agricultural produce, support local farmers, expand export opportunities, and introduce innovative grain-based products to both local and international markets. Through advanced processing technology and continuous product development, we are committed to unlocking the full potential of Sri Lanka’s traditional grains and contributing to a stronger, healthier, and more sustainable food industry.

Where Local Agriculture Meets Advanced Food Technology
The Ceylon Ultrafine Mill Uses Ultrafine Processing To Redefine Local Grains
For generations, Sri Lankan grains such as rice, finger millet, black gram, and cassava have been part of our everyday food culture. These ingredients are nutritious, familiar, and deeply connected to local agriculture. However, their potential in modern, higher-value food products has remained limited.
The challenge was not the raw materials. The real gap was in advanced processing, food science, and functional product development.
The Ceylon UltraFine Mill (Pvt) Ltd was established to close this gap. As a high-value food ingredient manufacturer, we bridge traditional Sri Lankan agriculture with modern food technology. Using proprietary Korean precision milling technology, we transform staple grains into ultra-fine functional ingredients that deliver better performance, better nutrition, and wider food applications.
Our work goes beyond basic flour milling. We create advanced grain-based ingredients that support improved texture, binding, mixability, hydration, moisture retention, and product consistency. This allows local raw materials to perform better in bakery, gluten-free foods, snacks, health foods, infant nutrition, meal replacements, and export-ready traditional food products.
