Main Ingredients / Materials

• Rice Flour
• Purified Water
• Salt

Basic Cooking Instructions

• Heat approximately 250ml of water until it reaches around 90°C.
• Add 180–200g of frozen rice cakes and soak for 3–5 minutes until softened.
• Drain and discard the soaking water.
• Add the softened rice cakes to a pot with 90–100ml of fresh water.
• Add Tteokbokki sauce or preferred seasoning with 80-100ml of fresh water and mix well.
• Add the softened rice cakes and cook for 3–5 minutes.
• Stir gently during cooking to prevent the rice cakes from sticking together.
• Add vegetables, fish cakes, cheese, eggs, spring onions, sesame seeds, or other preferred ingredients before serving.

How to Thaw and Cook Frozen Tteokbokki Rice Cakes

• For an unopened package, place the sealed pack in cold water for approximately 20–30 minutes, until the rice cakes can be easily separated.
• For an opened package, take out only the amount you need and soak the rice cakes directly in cold water for approximately 10–20 minutes. Once they soften slightly and separate easily, drain well and cook immediately. Tightly reseal the remaining rice cakes to prevent air from entering, and return them to the freezer immediately.
• Avoid thawing the rice cakes for too long in hot water or a microwave, as this may cause them to crack or become overly soft. Once thawed, do not refreeze; cook and consume them promptly.
